About me

Aug 22, 2014

My name is Fernando Pelliccioni. I am a second-generation programmer (my father is a programmer too). I started coding at age 9, participated in my first International Olympiad in Informatics at 12, and have been a professional software engineer since 1997.

I specialize in high-performance computing, modern C++, and blockchain development.

C++ and Standards

I have been writing C++ since 1997 and following the evolution of the language since the C++0x era. I am a member of the ISO C and C++ committees (WG14 and WG21) since 2022.

I started this blog to share thoughts about topics that are sometimes forgotten by modern programmers: algorithms, data structures, mathematics, computer architecture, and low-level programming. I frequently reference the work of people I consider the greatest of our discipline: Edsger Dijkstra, Donald Knuth, Alexander Stepanov, among others.

Blockchain and Bitcoin

I have been involved in Bitcoin development for over 10 years. I founded Knuth, a Bitcoin Cash development platform, and contributed to Bitcoin Cash Node and Bitcoin ABC.

Currently, I am building DeFi solutions on Bitcoin Cash L1 using CashTokens, and developing a BCH wallet with integrated DeFi capabilities.

Recognition

I received the “Senator Domingo Faustino Sarmiento” Honorable Mention, the highest award granted by the Argentine Parliament, for my contributions to the National Commission on the Outer Limit of the Continental Shelf (COPLA). As part of this project, I contributed to the technical and scientific work that led to Argentina’s submission to the United Nations, defining the outer limits of its continental shelf.
